Darren graduated from the Auckland School of Physiotherapy in 2000. Since then he has worked exclusively in the musculoskeletal field both in New Zealand and the UK. In 2002 he went on to complete his postgraduate qualifications in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Being a keen sportsman himself (representing New Zealand in waterpolo) his main interest was to focus on sports injuries and rehabilitation. He has gained extensive experience over the last 9 years working with elite clubs and athletes both here in New Zealand and the UK.
This experience helped him develop his expertise in treating a wide range of sporting injuries and Darren is able to apply his knowledge of rehabilitation in the elite setting to the every day athlete and the weekend warrior. He developed his skills through continuous training in postgraduate courses in many areas such as sports injuries, back stability, rehabilitation and neural mobilisation.
While in the UK Darren did extensive work with ergonomics and treating work/overuse related injuries providing personalised work station assessments, rehabilitation and retraining.
In his spare time he enjoys surfing, snowboarding, tennis and competing in the Targa Rally. |
